Business History: Growing up in Alaska, I spent much time indoors during the long cold winters. As I grew, so did our city and its amenities, including bike trails, ski trails, and a University Campus. I was impressed at an early age on the importance of achieving shelter and comfort, along with means to view and enjoy the great outdoors. After receiving a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, I began designing homes using natural materials with views to nature in mind. Later I worked with the University of Alaska, Anchorage to develop a parking master plan and encourage pedestrian trails on campus. I went on to receive LEED, Landscape and Horticulture, and ISA Arborist training in Seattle, WA, where I now reside. Here I’ve consulted with construction and landscape firms, and ran a sole proprietor Residential Architecture practice for over 15 years. I’ve volunteered services to Kubota Garden, Highline Seatac Botanical Garden, and Highpoint neighborhood.

I feel uniquely committed to integrate landscape and architectural design.

Architectural Services: assist clients in space planning or adapting old and new structures to focus on gardens and nature. At the University of Alaska I worked with structural engineers to add ventilation and windows to existing concrete structures. I design for recycled rainwater, and sustainable energy conservation systems. My goal is to design for accessibility in all homes. I have experience with Civic, City and non-profit Boards and have developed pedestrian features including a drinking fountain, an entry kiosk and master plans. I can work with committees, create construction documents, procure permits, project manage and provide personal and focused service.
